Yolanda Cabrera Obituary

Yolanda Solis Cabrera, born on April 6, 1944, in Brownsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, in Kaufman, Texas. She was the beloved daughter of Ernesto M. Solis and Francisca P. Espinoza. Yolanda's father, Ernesto, was killed in action in WWII. Her mother, Francis, was remarried to Frank X. Parra, who also served in WWII, and they raised Yolanda in Brownsville with her 6 younger half siblings.

Yolanda graduated from Brownsville High School in 1962. In 1963, she followed in her father's footsteps and joined the military. She served honorably in the Women's Army Corp (WAC) for 3 years. She had many fond memories of her time in the service and spoke of her time there often. After she completed her time in the service, she moved to Dallas, Texas, where she met and married Jaime. They had 4 children and eventually moved from Dallas to Royse City, where they would spend the rest of their lives together.

She is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline Joplin and Bridget Gibson, 6 grandsons, and 3 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jaime V. Cabrera, and her 2 sons, James Cabrera Jr. and Ernest D. Cabrera.

Her memorial service is scheduled for March 15th at 2:00 at the Little Wren Chapel, 509 E. Boydstun Avenue, Rockwall, Texas 75087.
